This 4 Days queen Elizabeth and lake Mburo park safari is an exciting excursion that takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the second-largest national park in Uganda, which is rich in biodiversity and home to the big 4 mammals—elephant, buffalo, lions, and leopards—as well as other animals like waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and bird species. Also, you will be able to explore Lake Mburo National Park, one of Uganda’s smaller yet biodiverse national parks. You may see creatures including buffalo, zebras, giraffes, impalas, elands, oribi, as well as bird species like the rare shoe bill stork, when visiting Lake Mburo National Park.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1 of the 4 days Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo national park

Depending on where you are located, our drive guide will pick you up on the first day of your four-day trip to Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo national parks, give you a Uganda safari briefing, and then begin the drive there. You will pass via Mubende and Fort Portal on the route to Fort Portal, where you will eat lunch.

Go to the Queen Elizabeth national park after lunch for an evening wildlife drive there. You will get the chance to see a variety of park inhabitants during the game drive, including elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, and certain bird species, including the saddle-billed stork, squaco heron, knob-billed duck, African jacana, and yellow wagtail. You will drive to the lodge after the game drive, check in, have supper, and spend the night.

Day 2: Morning game drive/lion tracking and afternoon Boat cruise

You will get up early, have breakfast, and meet your driving guide on the second day of your 4 Days queen Elizabeth and lake Mburo park safari so that you may go to Kasenyi Plains for the morning wildlife drive/lion tracking. You will have the chance to see a variety of animals during the game drive, including leopards, lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, hyenas, bush pigs, and different bird species, including the papyrus gonolek, white-backed night heron, yellow-throated cuckoo, red-chested sunbird, and white-winged warbler. After the approximately 4 to 5 hour game drive, you will go to the resort for lunch.

You will meet your driver/guide after lunch, and you will then be transferred for the afternoon boat excursion. The Kazinga canal, a piece of water between Lake George and Lake Edward, is where the boat tour in Queen Elizabeth National Park is conducted. The boat journey, which begins about 2:00 pm and lasts for around 2 hours, is a thrilling and daring adventure. You will be able to get up close to animals like elephants, buffaloes, and waterbucks while on the boat tour. Hippos and Nile crocodiles will also be present in the water, as well as a variety of waterbirds like the martial eagle, pelicans, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, and kingfishers, among others.

You will travel to Lake Katwe, a salt lake that was created by a volcanic explosion many years ago, after the boat ride. You will be able to witness locals removing rock salt for sale from the main lake while on the Lake Katwe tour. You may witness a variety of bird species in Lake Munyanyange, which is 2 kilometers from Lake Katwe, including flamingos, the pied avocet, black winged stilts, black terns, and sea gulls, among others. You will travel back to the resort for supper and the night after the crater lakes tour.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park

On the third day of your 4 Days queen Elizabeth and lake Mburo park safari, you’ll get up, eat breakfast, and then meet your driver/guide to go to Lake Mburo National Park, which is in the Mbarara area. The route will take you via Mbarara Road, and the drive will take you roughly 4 hours. You will check into the lodge and have lunch when you get to the park.

Immediately following lunch, you will meet your driver/guide and go on a 2:00 pm boat excursion on Lake Mburo. The boat ride is a fantastic activity in the park that gives you the chance to see a variety of wildlife species, including plants, aquatic animals like hippos and crocodiles, land animals like buffaloes and antelopes on the banks of the water, and bird species like the African fish eagle, blue breasted kingfisher, southern ground hornbill, papyrus Gonolek, and blue headed coucal, among others. You will travel to the lodge for an evening of leisure, supper, and lodging after the boat cruise.

Day 4: Game drive and departure

On the 4th day of your Uganda Safari, you will wake up, have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet your driver guide for the morning game drive on the final day of your four-day trip to Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo National Parks. One of the main activities in the park is a game drive, where you go along several tracks like the zebra track and get to see a variety of species along the way, including zebras, giraffes, bushbucks, warthogs, impala, topi, elands, hyenas, and gigantic forest pigs. Following the wildlife drive, you will leave the park via the Nshara gate to begin your trip to Kampala. You’ll stop for lunch near the equator on the way there, where you’ll also have a chance to take pictures and shop for trinkets like crafts and artwork.

Following lunch, you’ll continue your trip to Kampala, where your driver-guide will drop you off wherever it would be most convenient for you, including the Entebbe airport if you have a flight to catch.
