Day 1 of the 3 days Lake Mburo birding safari

Arrival and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park: On the first day of the three-day Lake Mburo birding safari, depending on your arrival time, our driver-guide will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport, give you a Uganda safari orientation, and then begin the journey to Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda. You’ll stop for lunch at the equator along the trip. During lunch, you’ll snap some pictures, shop for mementos, and then proceed to the park with many stops along the way to see different bird species. As soon as you get there, you’ll check in at the lodge, clean up, and get ready for an evening game drive during which you’ll see a variety of birds, animals, and the sunset, among other things. You will return to the lodge for dinner and sleep after the wildlife drive.

Day 2: Birding in Lake Mburo national park

Nature walk: On the second day of the three-day Lake Mburo birding safari, you will meet your birding guide after breakfast and go to the park with him or her to take part in a nature walk with an armed park guide. During the cruise, you will see a variety of aquatic birds, including the elusive shoebill stork, rufous bellied heron, African fish eagle, cormorants, pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, white-backed night herons, giant kingfishers, and water thick-knees, among others. Along with seeing many of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, you can also see creatures like buffalo, warthogs, giraffes, and antelopes drinking water on the shoreline, admire stunning vistas, watch fisherman fish, and snap amazing pictures, among other things. Following the boat ride, you will meet your driver/guide and go through the park to the lodge for supper and the night.

Day 3: Morning game drive and departure to Kampala

On the last day of the three-day Lake Mburo birding Uganda safari, after breakfast, you’ll check out of the lodge and be picked up by your driver-guide to go on a morning game drive where you can see some of the bird species and animals you might have missed. Predators like hyenas and leopards, who will be returning to their hiding places, as well as other animals along the roadside like zebras, impalas, warthogs, giraffes, oribi, topis, buffaloes, and others, may all be seen during the early game drive. After the wildlife drive, you will leave the park and begin the trip to Kampala, stopping for lunch along the way near the Equator. Following lunch, you will continue your journey and arrive in Kampala in the early evening. Your driver-guide will then drop you off at any convenient location or at Entebbe International Airport so that you can catch your flight home.
