DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; TRANSFER FROM KIGALI TO LAKE KIVU IN GISENYI
Depending on your location, the safari guide will meet you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will be transferred to gisenyi for lunch and spend the evening hours exploring Lake Kivu. Later in the evening you will enjoy a boat cruise, swim and walk along the shores of Lake Kivu. After you will head to your lodge for dinner and preparation for the next day activities.
DAY 2; HIKE MOUNT NYIRAGONGO
After having breakfast, you will be transferred to Congo via Grande Barrier. After clearing with the park management, you will be transferred to kibati ranger post for a briefing. After the briefing, you will start the hike up to the summit. You will have an overnight stay at the summit as you enjoy the lava boiling lake at the top of nyiragongo.
DAY 3; DESCEND NYIRAGONGO AND DRIVE TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
In the morning after breakfast, you will start to descend mount Nyiragongo back to kibati ranger post. On arrival, you will be driven to goma where you will cross back to Rwanda and later be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. On arrival you will check into your lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 4; GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to the parks headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will enter the forest in search of the mountain gorillas. Once they are located, you will spend an hour with the mountain gorillas as you watch them play, feed, hunt and breastfeed among others as you take photos and record moments. After the trekking, you will return to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in the trekking. After you will return to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
DAY 5; TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK VIA ISHASHA
After a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, you will check out and embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will have a short game drive within the ishasha sector where you will spot the tree climbing lions. After, you will proceed with the drive up to Queen Elizabeth national park and on arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 6; GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE
After morning breakfast, you will be driven to kasenyi plains for a game drive where you will spot wildlife species which include mammals, birds and vegetation. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will head for a boat cruise at kazinga channel where you will watch crocodiles and hippos in water, water birds and many more wildlife along the channel. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 7; TRANSFER TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK-CHIMPANZEE TREKKING
After an early morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kibale forest national park. On arrival, you will check into the lodge and relax as you have lunch. After lunch, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will enter the forest in search of the chimpanzees. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend an hour with them as you watch their behaviors. After the trekking, you will return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 8; TRANSFER TO KAMPALA FOR DEPARTURE
After a relaxed breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kampala with enroute lunch. On arrival, you will have a Kampala city tour and then proceed to Entebbe international airport for your flight back home or any place of advise.
